Calpodes hewitsoni
Uncommon up to 1050 m. Attracted to spitwads and bait.
Similar species: C. fischer (I have no Cusco records) is very similar except for having the FW cellspot restricted to bottom half of cell (as in C. placens).
Calpodes antoninus
Uncommon up to 850 m. Attracted to bait and spitwads.
Similar species: Note lack of bluish frosting at VHW apex (C. morsa and C. saladin culta have frosting) and the lack of a 'sullied' area VFW below the apical spots shown by C. longirostris.
Calpodes longirostris
Fairly common up to 1350 m., most common at lower elevations. Attracted to bait and spitwads; occasionally visits flowers.
Similar species: The contrasting rectangular 'sullied' patch VFW below the apical spots combined with relatively lack of bluish frosting at VHW apex is apparently distinctive.
Calpodes morsa
Uncommon at 1050 m., probably higher and lower. Attracted to spitwads and bait.
Similar species: Similar to C. saladin culta but VHW base is clear cream, lacking bluish sheen.
Calpodes saladin culta
Rare(?) up to 1050 m., probably more common lowlands. Attracted to bait and probably spitwads.
Similar species: Creamy base of VHW is variably tinged with blue; otherwise similar to C. morsa.
