Cecropterus zarex
Uncommon(?) up to 600 m., probably higher. Mostly found in disturbed habitats. Attracted to bait and flowers.
Similar species: See C. longipennis.
Cecropterus longipennis
Fairly common(?) up to 600 m., probably higher. Mostly found in disturbed habitats. Attracted to bait and flowers.
Similar species: C. zarex always lacks the tiny dot in the FW band; apparently it can be lacking in longipennis, in which case I struggle to separate the two.
Cecropterus doryssus doryssus
Uncommon up to 550 m. Attracted to bait and spitwads.
Similar species: C. reductus (I have no Cusco records) has central FW band reduced to a few tiny spots; C. albimargo (I have no Cusco records) has a narrower HW tail and narrower white margin VHW among other differences.
