Ectomis gyges
Uncommon up to 900 m.; perhaps absent from true lowlands. Usually found puddling.
Similar species: The inner edges of the cellspot and the spot in space 2 FW are aligned, unlike E. hirtius.
Ectomis hirtius
Rare(?) up to 1150 m. Attracted to bait and spitwads.
Similar species: The inner edge of spot in space 2 FW is offset outwards from the inner edge of the cellspot; cf. E. gyges.
Ectomis ceculus
Uncommon(?) at 1050 m., probably lower. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: VHW lacks white band shown by E. metallescens. FW spot in space 3 not overlapped by the spot in space 2, unlike E. caunus and E. auginus (I have no Cusco records of either).
Ectomis pervivax
Rare(?) up to 1050 m. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: Blue at D wing bases much more extensive than E. perniciosus. E. bahiana lacks FW hyaline spots.
Ectomis bahiana
Rare(?) up to 1050 m. Attracted to bait.
Similar species: Lacks FW hyaline spots of E. pervivax.
Ectomis perniciosus
Fairly common up to 1050 m. Puddles, attracted to bait. FW spots highly variable.
Similar species: Some recall E. pervivax but blue on D wing bases much more limited and dull.
